I am a professional pianist and worship leader who lives in Palmdale, Ca. with my wife and three kids. I have a MM Degree from the Juilliard School where I studied with Jerome Lowenthal. I also have an extensive background in Jazz improvisation and I have taught both classical repertoire and jazz improvisation at local colleges.
My Jazz teachers included Terry Trotter, Harold Denko and Gary Dial. Currently I teach at Antelope Valley College. I also am a worship leader and have 20 years experience with piano improvisation as related to the worship service.
Les Counts is an excellent teacher of both jazz improv as well as full on classical styles. A caring and patient teacher who pulls the best out of each of his students. Les is a great piano teacher. He has taught all 3 of my children. My oldest 2 kids have taken lessons from him for 12 years. They are both accomplished pianists. My youngest has taken piano with him for 6 years. She enjoys piano as well.
