As a child, I was always fascinated by the use of words to create mental images. I loved reading and imagining the characters and places in the books. When I was a young teenager, my aunt gave me a huge book of poetry. I fell in love with the rhythms and rhymes of poems. Written words are more than a means to communicate, but also a creative way of self-expression. Words can paint mental images, pulling the reader into the story. When I help someone write, I want to impart that passion for using words. I will help beginners make their writing clear and concise with grammar, punctuation, and flow. I will show intermediate writers how to expand and polish their writing skills. All students will receive personal attention to discover their style and reach their writing goals.
