    About Leland M.

    Leland Matsumura is Principal Trombone of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Southwest Michigan Symphony, and the Holland Symphony. In addition, he has been a finalist in the Erie Philharmonic and Lansing Symphony's trombone auditions. Leland is an active low brass educator in the Northeast Ohio area. He currently teaches trombone, euphonium/baritone, and tuba lessons to students 4th through 12th grade. Leland has a Master of Music degree from Western Michigan University and the Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University. His principal teachers are Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger, Dr. Andrew Lankford, and Dr. Mike Hall.
