Master of Music in Instrumental Pedagogy, Bassoon

Patient teacher, conductor, guitarist and songwriter with Master of Music degree

Lee has been reading music since age 6 and tutoring music theory since college, and has a talent for communicating complex musical concepts in a straightforward and simple way. These lessons focus only on music theory concepts, not on instrumental technique. Lee received a Master of Music from Belmont University, and Bachelor of Music Education from Loyola University New Orleans. Lee is a teacher, conductor, and instrumentalist with comprehensive experience in classical and popular music, including full orchestra, concert band/wind ensemble, folk/bluegrass orchestra, chamber ensembles, rock/pep bands, solo singer-songwriter performance, and musical theatre.

Teaching online since 2018 Minimum age: 10 Welcome! I teach students of all ages (10+), abilities and genders, and I focus on positive and productive learning techniques, specialized for individual needs. I have taught beginning and intermediate players for many years and know all the best ways to acquire technical and musical proficiency, including recommendations for the most playable instruments and the best accessories.  I have a master's degree and comprehensive experience in music instruction and performance, including solo performance, orchestra, concert band, folk/bluegrass orchestra, chamber ensembles, rock/blues/folk and cover bands, pep band, opera and musical theatre. I teach lessons in person in the Los Angeles area, and online using a desktop computer, an Ethernet connection, and a professional microphone. All you need is a good internet connection and device (computer or tablet) and the basic tools: an instrument, an armless chair, and a quiet location.

Lee is beyond flexible and so patient with my daughter, accepts her for quirks and pushed her skills every week.

Lee has been patient with me and finds ways to connect the theory with the actual guitar playing, which is just what I'm looking for.
