Hi there! I am new to Takelessons.com, but I am definitely NOT new when it comes to teaching voice. I have been teaching for about five years now in both San Francisco and New York City. I have recently relocated to Philadelphia, so I'm looking to find as many eager voice students as I can! Below my bio, you can find some reviews that I've received from some of my students in NYC via Reverblessons.com.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, graduated from NYU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance, and received my Master of Music degree in classical voice at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I sang in operas, concerts and recitals weekly. While I was living in SF and NYC, I maintained a private studio of voice students. I love teaching as much as I love performing, so being able to do both is wonderful!
I believe that technique IS expression--a singer must have solid technique in order to express with ease, freedom and artistry. My focus as a teacher is not only on developing a healthy and dependable technique, but also on finding the inner strength and confidence that it takes to be a singer. I am understanding of, and sympathetic towards students from all different backgrounds and experience levels. My students and I work to create a unique set of goals, and we map out how we get there TOGETHER.
I have experience teaching adults, young adults and children, in pop, musical theater and classical/operatic genres. All of my teaching experience has been in private studio settings.
Here are some of my reviews-- (you can find these reviews and others on my profile at Reverblessons.com https://reverblessons.com/categories/voice?location_query=10022)
