Contemporary Dance with Layn G.

Layn is a dancer/choreographer who has been training in the art of dance since age 9. She began training at Stage Door Dance in Mesquite, TX. Layn moved to LA, California at age 11 to pursue further training and a career in the arts. Layn began attending Debbie Allen Dance Academy and The Edge in Hollywood where she has studied intensively in many styles of dance including Ballet, Modern/Contemporary variations, Graham, Horton, Dunham, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Flamenco, African, Character, Jazz Funk, and HipHop. During the 5 years Layn studied at D.A.D.A. she was able to work and perform alongside many professional artists such as Raven Symoné, Jaleel White, Tichina Arnold, Chaka Khan, and Debbie Allen herself to name a few. Layn continued her study of dance in high school at LACHSA. She also had the opportunity to work with The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in a program wherein she danced and choreographed with other young artists for 9 months leading up to a culmination performance showcasing their work. Layn specializes in teaching Jazz, HipHop, Jazz Funk, and Lyrical. In addition, Layn is also an actor and she incorporates acting techniques and theatrics into choreography and training.
