As a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and over 40 years of solo, chamber music and orchestral experience I will teach you that playing the cello is a total mind/body experience that forces you to be here now and teach you the value of everyday practice as a cellist and musician.
From beginner to advanced players I will cover proper setup and make you understand in depth the mechanics of tone production (that golden tone every cellists dreams of) as well as learning to explore and understand the potential for sound colors and expression in music in general.
I have had a long and fascinating journey in music and I hope you will join me for more!

About Lawrence F.

Do you want to feel more in control of your instrument? Are you frustrated by all the moving parts playing the cello challenges you with?
Well that's why you need a good teacher. That's me.
Since graduating from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia in1985 I have traveled the world performing with all shapes and sizes and flavors of music and musicians (Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, France 1991-1999, The Kansas City Symphony 2000-present among others) and now I want to share this experience and stage wisdom with you.
Everyone wants a beautiful tone and flawless technique. Everyone wants the soulful tone that draws us to the cello in the first place but getting there may not be as straight a path as you might think. Sometimes the solutions to cello problems are less then intuitive and trusting a good teacher helps you navigate through it.
So come join me in a lesson and learn how to take charge of your cello journey!
