¡Hola! My name is Laurie Garriga, I'm 29 and I'm currently a Phd student and a Spanish instructor at Boston University's Romance Studies Department. I have worked as a Spanish professor at college level at my native Puerto Rico and in Boston, where I currently teach. I have a large range of teaching and tutoring experience from very young to adult. I enjoy teaching and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. I love teaching Spanish as well as discussing its Literatures and cultures.
I hold a MA in Spanish Literature from Complutense University in Madrid, Spain and a BA in Journalism and Spanish from the University of Puerto Rico.
I hope to meet you soon and help you learn Spanish! ¡Hasta pronto!

Laurie is a wonderful teacher. I wanted to improve my Spanish skills for a long trip to Costa Rica and Laurie helped me to become more confident and fluent. She is also very kind and a very nice person. I recommend her without hesitation.
Laurie is a fantastic instructor. The sessions are very engaging, enjoyable, interactive, and well organized. She has a great style that creates a very valuable learning experience.
