Singing is my passion! I started singing at 6 years old and never stopped performing in front of crowds. I took my own voice lessons throughout child hood and became more serious once I was in high school. I was in various bands and asked to sing at various events. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and received a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music with focus on vocal performance and music business. I've been teaching voice for a cumulative of five years. *** Lesson Details *** As a private voice teacher, I strive to cater the lesson to the student’s goals while making it fun and enjoyable throughout the lesson time. My goal is to build confidence in their abilities and help them grow as vocalists. I have had many students who want to learn to just carry a tune better while singing for fun and students who want to pursue singing professionally. My personal background in singing was built with an emphasis on vocal technique and with technique I was able to approach any style of singing I chose. Lessons with me typically start out with learning specific exercises that are designed to build a foundation in proper technical skills, vocal ability, and overall maintenance. The remaining portion of the lesson is designed to show the student how to apply what they've learned to the music they want to sing. My students typically start hearing/feeling results within the first few weeks of how much easier singing can become with lessons and, of course, with practice at home between lessons. I encourage students to experiment with different genres and styles they want to try to help them find their own voice as an artist. I love getting the opportunity and privilege to be a part of that process. Students will want to bring a song of their choice to work on and can bring their own device for recording the lesson, however I record the lessons and give you a copy. *** Studio Equipment *** Keyboard, microphone, laptop and/or recording device, and an auxiliary cable for students songs and instrumental music to work on. Logic and Garageband *** Travel Equipment *** N/A *** Specialties *** I specialize in teaching vocal health, vocal technique, singing styles such as pop, blues, jazz, and country. I can also teach singers to make lead sheets/chord charts. I assist with preparation for all types of singing related auditions.
