Master of Music - Music Composition

Learn Piano with ease from an experienced pianist and instructor

Music should never simply be a rote-learning process. We develop real artistry. My students learn how to interpret, transform, and create music. From the first lesson, we experiment with various musical "ingredients" and revisit these tools often as we move through a lesson series or repertoire. Students explore a variety of styles and learn to read, compose, and improvise. Students as young as five have created their own theme and variations on a favorite tune with these techniques.

My name is Lauren, and I am excited to help make music a meaningful part of your life. At Musical Life, we foster music from the beginning through the professional level. Our students are: • Children and working adults in beginning & intermediate study • Collegiate and professional musicians coming for project-based coaching or audition preparation • Songwriters writing singles, EPs, or an album • Composers writing new concert music and musical theater works • Parents & children, siblings, and friends who learn and love to make music together • Retirees learning for the first time or returning to an instrument from many years before I offer in-person, online, and hybrid instruction. We focus on developing true artistry and giving you the tools to play many styles including classical, musical theater, Disney, folk, contemporary, jazz and blues, Christian, and more. We play from the first lesson and learn music theory, literacy, and technique in subsequent lessons. Our students are involved in school & community ensembles, school & community theater, and district contests. We also have students who have been prepared for professional and pre-professional opportunities. Please send me a note! I can't wait to get started.
