Trusted teacher. World-class lessons. Creative lessons tailored to your child

Hello there! My name is Lauren, and I'm an NYC-based violinist with over 15 years of experience teaching violin. I earned my BM and MM degrees from Eastman School of Music in Violin Performance and perform regularly at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center. As a teacher, I adapt my teaching methods on the spot to introduce and reinforce concepts in a patient, enthusiastic, and creative manner tailored to each student. In addition to equipping my students with proper violin technique, students are empowered and develop their communication skills and confidence while fostering a lasting curiosity for learning and a genuine love for the imaginative and expressive capabilities of music. Lessons generally focus on four major areas: scales, etudes, ensemble parts (orchestra and chamber music), and solo repertoire. Music theory and ear-training activities supplement work in these areas. A portion of lesson time is also devoted to preparing students for entrance and seating auditions, when applicable. In addition to weekly lessons, my students perform solos in recitals and are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular ensembles. Generally, lessons are 60 minutes once a week. For younger students or adults on a budget, 45 minute lessons are available. 30 minute lessons are for students 7 and younger. If students have an upcoming concert/audition, or would simply like to progress faster, twice-weekly lessons are available.

Lauren is the fourth teacher that I’ve had in my violin career, and is by far the best! She is patient, kind, organized, diligent, focused, caring… I could go on! She packs so much into an hour long lesson, keeps me on track, and always has a plan. On top of this, she has a level of knowledge and passion far beyond what I’ve seen in the past, which is what most sets her apart. I am so grateful to have found Lauren - she is a gem of a person and of a teacher!

Lauren is an amazing violin teacher—she's kind, perceptive, organized, and professional. Plus, she makes lessons fun, and something to look forward to! And not only that, she's also an incredibly talented performer! I can't recommend her enough.

FANTASTIC TEACHER! Lauren taught me for 2 years as an adult beginner and I could not have asked for a better experience She is so patient, kind and encouraging. During our time I believe I made tremendous progress with her instruction even though halfway though we had to switch to remote lessons because of Covid. Phenomenal person and gifted teacher!!
