Ms. S holds a bachelors and masters degree in violin performance. She currently plays with the San Antonio Symphony and serves as the Assistant Concertmaster at the Mid-Texas Symphony.
Ms. S is an enthusiastic teacher and has maintained a private studio of all levels since 2000. At the University of Delaware, she was Xiang Gao's teaching assistant and taught the undergraduate non-music majors. She was professor of violin at Texas Lutheran University from 2013-2015. Her students have achieved success at auditions for youth orchestras, Regions, All-State, and entrance into college music programs.

I worked with Laura through my high school years. She has been very helpful, and has worked with me so that I can have the best musical experience possible. She has always been very approachable and easy to talk to! The lessons were always very fun; she always made sure to give me a safe space to make music and not feel judged. Whenever looking into colleges and audition times came up, she knew how to approach the situation and how to prepare me for them! I am so grateful to have gotten to work with her!

Laura is a very encouraging, supportive teacher that pushes her students and works hard to help them be successful. I have been a student of hers for about 5 years now and I've experienced how amazing she is firsthand. She always motivates me to be the best I can be and improve beyond that. She makes herself available between lessons for questions and advice, which has always been super helpful. Overall, studying under her has been an enlightening, wonderful experience.
