I started knitting over ten years ago, and I've been crocheting for over fifteen years now! I love learning new techniques and pushing the limits of what I can do! I've made tons of scarves, hats, and mitts, but I've also made blankets, ornaments, and others.
I teach students who have never knitted/crocheted before, or students who have experience and just want help with a specific pattern, or students who want to push the limits and try something new!
I love knitting patterns with interesting textures, and my favorite style is mosaic colorwork!
Reach out and we can figure out a plan that works well for you!
Taught a 3-session class of 9 adult students. They learned to cast on a project, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, how to fix a dropped stitch, and how to finish a project. Some students chose to pick a pattern and work through it during the course.
I've also taught knitting classes on single-color brioche knitting, as well as two-color brioche knitting in the round, worked flat, and with decreases.
Awesome teacher! Patient and kind and really knows crochet and how to teach it.
Laura was kind, patient and extremely flexible! A great teacher!!! I would use her again without a double!!
Laura is great and very patient with me. I got frustrated cause the sound quality was very poor could not hear her too well. But she is great teacher.
Good first instruction Laura is helping me get back in the swing.
Delightful Laura is a VERY helpful and an easy to follow teacher! It was our first lesson and it was perfect! She has a very easy style and can read your skills (or lack thereof) and help you move forward in knitting! I am excited about lesson 2!
Laura is so flexible with her schedule and she is a delight to work with. I would highly recommend her. Such an amazing teacher!!!
Amazing teacher. Very patient and kind
Excellent instructor; knowledgeable and truly has demonstrated a ton of patience. Enjoyed my training class.
I just signed up for one lesson. So she went over everything I would need to finish my puppt pattern. She did not try to string me along for more money. As a matter of fact I may take another lesson from her
Laura was beyond patient with me. At first my hand coordination was pretty terrible. I had a hard time holding onto the needle and draping the yarn correctly over my hand but, Laura kept reminding me, this is my first time and it’s going to take practice. After my lessons she would give me homework and YouTube addresses where I could look if I got hung up on what to do next. Laura is a true teacher and cares about your progress!!+ Read More
Laura is extremely knowledgeable, and extremely patient! I was a brand new knitter, and Laura helped me understand the basics of knitting and get my project off the ground! I've recommended taking her lessons to my family members who are interested in picking up the hobby too.+ Read More
Laura is amazing! She makes sure everyone is on the same page, she's very patient & is very thorough with her lessons. I always can't wait for our class & I wouldn't want anyone else teaching me how to knit! Thanks to her, I now know how to do something I thought I'd never learn how to do!+ Read More
I took knitting lessons with Laura over our lunch hour at work, and after the very first one, I was super excited to be on my way to knitting the most lopsided, unsightly potholder ever! Laura is an AMAZING teacher. She is patient and encouraging, and she is happy to take time to make sure you understand exactly what you are doing. When you make mistakes (because you will!), she is happy to step in to show you how to fix it and then help you learn how to fix it yourself so you can become a fierce and independent knitting master like her! Seriously, it's impressive that someone so skilled can break it down to meet you where you are, and she does it in the most approachable, unassuming way. I have officially finished my "potholder" and I am confidently moving on to knitting real things! I've already improved, and that's mostly because Laura helped me get out of my own way, and be confident to try a new skill. You won't find a better teacher out there!+ Read More
Laura is a fun and conscientious instructor who makes this new skill accessible and enjoyable to beginners. The intro lessons are well-organized and go at a good pace. She has a nice balance of standing back to let us figure things out by trying it ourselves and jumping into help when needed. I love how she simultaneously demonstrates the technique she's teaching while having a video of her doing that technique on repeat during the class so we can look up at it whenever we need to. I definitely recommend Laura's lessons.+ Read More
Laura is amazing! She taught a group class and has been so patient with us all! I'm excited to continue to learn and maybe make a sweater.
Laura is an AMAZING teacher!! She has very helpful demo videos to show close-ups of how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, etc. She makes it easy to learn and provides great one-on-one instruction! I highly recommend taking Laura's class!
Laura taught a knitting class at our workplace and it was excellent! Laura created videos demonstrating each step of the process as well as giving verbal instruction. She checked in with us when we had a question or issue and was very patient. By the end of the two classes, I had made a pot holder and felt confident that I could start a new project on my own!+ Read More
Laura was incredible. Her videos were clear and detail oriented. She used clear language, good camera angles, and also went at a great pace.
