English (ESL) with Laura R.

As an expert in language pedagogy, I can provide instruction for Spanish or English as a second language, and I also have experience tutoring college-level English composition and literature. What sets me apart from other Spanish instructors is my intimate familiarity with numerous regional dialects and extensive knowledge of different cultures and registers, meaning I can teach a more universal Spanish rather than one that is regionally specific. I am versatile in the type of instruction I can offer so that I can help students pursue a wide range of goals, from purely functional oral competency to more in-depth grammatical, syntactical, and linguistic understanding. I can accommodate virtually all learning styles and am prepared to address any learning challenges or obstacles students may face. I take a genuine personal interest in each individual I work with, and I strive to constantly improve the instruction I provide with every new student. I also offer full-service horseback riding lessons (i.e. I provide the horse and the equipment), in either English or Western. I teach a solid foundation of horsemanship from which a student may progress into a more specialized discipline if he or she wishes. In addition to developing equitation skills based on principles rooted in the classical tradition, my students also learn about equine care and stewardship and develop effective and safe horse-handling techniques.
