- Teaching since:
My name is LaToya. I have been playing the piano for 29 years and teaching, off-and-on, for over 15 years. Currently I am the musical director for my church and I also play for weddings, funerals, quinceñeras, parties etc. I have a passion for music and children/adolescents.
Some of my fondest memories as a child are from my years in piano class. I looked forward to my piano lessons every week. My goal is to keep lessons fun to develop that passion and excitement for music in my students.
I am here to cater to each of my students' learning styles and needs. I have an abundance of patience and am ready to go at the student's pace and teach the way he or she learns best.
I am also a grad student pursuing my master's degree in clinical psychology, and in the future, I plan to mesh my two passions and provide music therapy to children of all needs in my clinical therapy practice.
Some of my past students have gotten accepted into the school of performing arts, earned piano rolls in their high school choirs, and play for their churches.
