Arrangement and Composition with Lars R.

Acquainted with methods from a range of cultures and time periods, I have many tools at my disposal for teaching arrangement and composition. Simply copying scores is a good first step. Harmonizing various melodies is crucial, and, generally, the student will move outward from there. I emphasize a growing creativity from the start because students must always keep in mind that there are relatively few hard and fast rules for making good music. Nonetheless, I am well versed in the rudimentary levels so that anybody can receive a good basic education from me. Ideally I would be working with students who are committed to making original art.
