Let's play drums (or ukulele or guitar)! Let my 35 years of musical experience work for you! I teach rudiments, all the way to advance playing. But more importantly, You'll have fun learning skills you'll use and enjoy your whole life! Serious musical principles in a fun and relaxed environment. I studied several years under Walter Garces, a well-known LA drummer. I completed all percussion courses at Santa Monica College. I've played in a series of local bands. I am very experienced with rock, jazz, and Latin styles. I've been teaching drums (also ukulele or guitar) part-time for several years and now shifting to teaching music full-time. A typical lesson might start with some warm ups on drum pads. We'll discuss student progress and ergonomics. Then onto the drum kit! We'll review past lessons and introduce a new concept. Here's what sets me apart from other tutors: We'll play together. music of your choice, just like in a band. I play guitar and the student plays drums. My students say its the most fun and valuable part of the lesson.
