In October 2015, I arrived back in Portland from my contract in Europe, where I was performing in the show band on board the Caribbean Princess cruise ship. I am eager to resume teaching in the Rose City! I am originally from Long Island, New York, and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I lived until 2011. In June of 2015, I earned my Masters of Music degree in jazz studies from Portland State University.
*** Lesson Details ***
I cater to what my students interests are and am happy to take suggestions for material they'd like to learn in lessons. At the same time, I feel it's my responsibility to draw from my background as a music professional and show the student material they may be unaware of. After 6 months of lessons, my students have knowledge of all basic open chords and a solid repertoire of songs under their belt. We will also cover how to play major scales, the blues, and if they're interested, sight reading.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I provide amplifier, guitar cable, and music stand.
*** Travel Equipment ***
I need the student to provide a music stand.
*** Specialties ***
Rock, blues, jazz, funk, musical theater.
