Lan Vo grew up in the State of Washington where he started playing violin and viola at the age of three. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's of Science in Human/Child Development and Family Studies and continued on to Denver Seminary with a Masters in Counseling. Lan is currently a violist/violinist in the Jefferson Symphony, the Denver Pops Orchestra and Mile High String Quartet. He has been concertmaster of the Golden Chamber Orchestra and has assisted in other orchestras including the Lakewood Symphony, Aurora Symphony, Lonetree Symphony, Arapahoe Phillharmonic, Metropolitan State University of Denver Symphony and the Valley Symphony. He is frequently invited to play solo and with other various chamber groups throughout Colorado. Lan is currently studying under Bradley Watson, a violinist with the Colorado Symphony. Lan is known for his passion for music and the way he is able to express it through his execution and performance
The Lakewood Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is a community orchestra in Lakewood, Colorado that performs at the beautiful Lakewood Cultural Center. The LSO performs a variety of concerts every year featuring works from Bach, Beethoven and Brahms to Vaughn-Williams, Stravinsky, John Williams and everything in between. Our season includes seven concerts each year – four Classical concerts, one Pops concert, a Christmas concert and a Family concert.
The Mile High String Quartet is committed to providing quality music and competitive rates that are sure to make your wedding or other occasion extraordinary! We provide a wide variety of repertoire including classics like Pachelbel’s Canon and Bach’s Air on the G String. We also play serious works by Beethoven, Mozart, Shostakovitch and Massenet, to name a few. We customize each events’ set list to meet your wants and needs, and are able to arrange and prepare specially requested music.
The Jefferson Symphony Orchestra is a full-size symphony orchestra based in Golden, Colorado. Featuring fine musicians from many walks of life, the orchestra, under the brilliant direction of Maestro William Morse, continues to perform the most challenging of repertoire - to a standard rarely seen in volunteer orchestras.
The Denver Pops Orchestra, also known as the Mostly Strauss Orchestra, is a community-based nonprofit organization that has been serving up great music in metro Denver for over 30 years. The 55+ members who volunteer their time and talents represent a variety of ages and vocations.
The ensemble aims to serve Denver area communities through performances of familiar music, including a wide range of music from light classical and symphonic to operatic movements, Broadway and movie tunes to dance band and pops compositions. Denver Pops performs regularly from September through May, offering a variety of concerts, formal dances, benefits, and special events.

Lan is a talented and accomplished violinist and violist. We play together in the Mile High String Quartet. His dedication, organization and professionalism constantly exceeds our expectations.
Lan possesses all the qualities of a great teacher. He is very organized, patient, and compassionate. He is knowledgeable about overall musicality as well as specific technique and theory on violin and viola.
