Play piano like never before by learning from a professionally-trained music coach

I provide every student with different pieces according to his/her age and individual abilities. Each student has a different learning speed and level of enthusiasm which needs to be taken into account. With young children I find it helpful to integrate games, stories and pictures to enliven the lesson. I try not to be too strict, but I expect my students to practice at home and not to miss lessons. I use a number of books and methods. After 3 to 6 months a young student will have learned at least 12 notes on the staff, to sight-read easy pieces, to understand count rhythm values, and to play simple songs .

Laima M. studied at the J. Gruodis Conservatory. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Instruction at the Lithuanian National Academy of music in Kaunas and her Master Degree in pedagogy from the Academy of Lithuania. After 10 years of teaching music in Europe, she moved to US and has been teaching in Berkeley CA since 2005.
