Trumpet with Kyle M.

Growing up in a family of musicians, Kyle has been playing trumpet since before he was big enough to hold it on his own. Since he started teaching trumpet in 2011, he has taught kids of all ages and skill levels. In 2014, Kyle received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Jazz Studies from Columbia College Chicago. There, he performed with the Columbia College Jazz Ensemble, as well as a number of other ensembles covering many genres including jazz, pop, hip-hop and R&B. He also had the honor of performing in concert with Christian McBride, Paula Cole, jazz legend Benny Golson and many more. Currently, Kyle teaches trumpet (and beginning guitar) throughout Chicago and the southwest suburbs, and performs with groups of varying styles around town. He believes trumpet is a cool instrument for many reasons, and he is eager to help aspiring players of all ages learn how to play it well.
