- Levels Taught:
- Beginner, Intermediate
I'll show you how to get specific feels, moods and emotions.
We start basic and go from there until you have a real working knowledge that can be used with any instrument or style of play. The studies that I use are a combination of taking songwriting structures and breaking them down so that they make sense to anyone. I teach chord progressions as well as scales and sometimes go a bit off the deep end when I feel students are ready.

TakeLessons.com Instructor since 2012, Kyle K. is now available for online lessons worldwide featuring a great screen sharing experience to maximum involvement with students!
Kyle has been playing guitar for over 20 years, been writing for over 15 years and has been producing music for over 10 years. He has developed his own method of teaching to positively build on the student's strengths, dexterity, ear-training, natural technique, memorization and creativity. The goal is to always design lessons around you as an individual to help you reach your goals as an artist and musician. Whether it's guitar, bass, songwriting or production this method is used to maximize results!
A word from Kyle K:
"I love music! To me, it's a way of life. From listening to playing to writing and of course teaching. I grew up with music all around me at school and home. My dad was a piano player and teacher so music has been a part of my life since day one and I want to share what I have learned. Everyone has a unique musical talent and I enjoy helping them find it. I believe that anyone can be an excellent musician. Playing an instrument should be a fun and creative adventure. Whether it's strumming at home, playing out in the clubs, or writing the next big hit, I will do my best to get you there!
My musical life began when I was in 5th grade and my dad bought me a saxophone, which I played for over 12 years. I quickly learned how fast I could improve if I simply kept playing with focus. When I hit my teen years I fell in love with rock music and mowed enough lawns to buy my first guitar. I jammed and wrote songs with many other musicians and several bands over the years. We played countless shows and released a few albums. Now I write and produce music and sound design daily for TV, Film and Trailers for companies like Disney, Universal, MTV, NFL and many more.
I started teaching 11 years ago and found that it is one of my favorite things to do. Helping others grow into great musicians is rewarding and fun. I've learned that from grade school to retirement, each student is a unique and special individual. My lessons reflect that fact so that we can reach all your goals together. *My personal goal is to get my students to understand and write music that will stay with them and encourage them to continue."
All lessons take place in a fully operational Digital Recording Studio and dedicated lesson room. Gaining real world playing experience with current technology is a definite advantage over traditional lessons. This also allows the student to capture ideas when songwriting and provides a unique playing experience. Imagine looking back years down the line, listening to something you wrote and hearing the improvements and your own personal music history. That's what writing and recording as you learn is all about.
*** Lesson Details ***
Everyone is different, and every lesson should be suited to fit the individual. Depending on the type of lessons (guitar, bass, music production, theory, etc.) the style teaching will be adjusted to fit. It's all about YOUR goals and needs.
Each student is going to receive lessons based on their preferences of genre and style of music they desire to play. I expect my students to practice regularly and have a good time as their abilities and knowledge grow. By working together, we can focus on goals and problem solving to get you to the next level of play. Most importantly, we are going to have a blast while we learn to play music!
*We'll start slow and build your knowledge base with each lesson.
*You can expect to understand what you are playing AND be able to write your own music is desired.
*You will be given everything you'll need to succeed including custom made drums and songs to play with so you can improve at home.

Kyle gave me a great perspective on modes. Great lesson.
This was a great first lesson with Kyle. He was very informative and inspiring and patient with me and gave me a lot of good ideas on how I can learn to write good songs. Definitely several points above average!
Loved it, thanks Kyle!
Kyle is a great guitar teacher. He understands the theory as well as the mechanics of playing well. After I started taking lessons from him, I started to make consistent progress in my guitar playing, week after week. Before I started I could only play the most common open chords, and after a few months I can now play most bar chords, scales, how to find chords for the given key, transposing songs, and overall I understand the fretboard a lot better. We also work on arpeggiating, rhythm and other skills. I can recommend Kyle to anyone who wants to improve their guitar playing.+ Read More

Very friendly, Got to know my son and what his interests were for playing Bass as well as what he already had learned. Asked the direction of his music and what he liked. Gave him some basic things to start the juices of music flowing. 2nd lesson was amazing because Kyle started applying what he taught my son as well as jamming with drum beats and guitar to give my son a real feel to playing and learning to apply what he was taught.+ Read More
First lesson with Kyle. So far so great! Kyle is very friendly and accommodating. He has already given my 11 year old son things to work on for the next week.
Kyle is a fantastic guitar teacher! He takes the time to show you how to play guitar with good fundamentals, and teaches you a little bit of music theory along the way without making it complicated. I tried learning on my own using online TABs and Youtube videos and a game called Rocksmith. This was a good start, but eventually I hit a wall and wasn’t really progressing. Kyle has really helped me develop my skills. We went over all the basics like how to hold a pick, how to hold the guitar, how to play single notes vs. chords, palm muting and alternate picking. I was missing all of this technique before and I was actually making playing the guitar more difficult than it needed to be! Kyle explained it all in a very easy to understand way and gives you as much detail as you need. I like lots of detail, so we went over everything! He knows a lot of little tips and tricks from playing as long as he has and this is the kind of priceless information you can't get elsewhere. He's very easy to talk to and has a breadth of knowledge on all kinds of music. We normally geek out about anything from Jimi Hendrix to 90’s music to more modern music and everything in between. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is – highly recommended!+ Read More

BEST GUITAR INSTRUCTOR I EVER HAD!!!!
I have had a handful of guitar instructors before I came to Kyle. I have been playing guitar for probably 6 years on and off. I had a hard time sticking with it because my other instructors bored me to death and I just couldn't learn the way they taught. With Kyle though it is totally different. I have been taking lessons from him for I think over a year now and have made tons of progress. Given I already knew basics, I relearned pretty fast, but Kyle has a unique way of teaching that just works great. He teaches everyone different and does whatever he can to keep his students excited about music. Kyle has a very chilled personality and is a fun guy to be around. I would very highly recommend Kyle to anyone who is trying to learn Guitar or bass guitar.
