Having been a musician his whole life, and a bassist since the time he was 15 years old, Kyle elected to attend Berklee College of Music on partial scholarship after graduating high school. This allowed him the opportunity to study with the likes of Whit Browne and Anthony Vitti. Summer breaks from school allowed Kyle to complete professional contracts as a working bass player, including playing in Hersheypark’s “Frontier Frenzy” (2010), Holland America Cruiseline’s “The Neptunes” (2011), and Boston’s “The Honeymooners” (2012). After graduating Berklee Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education (December 2012), Kyle decided to move from his childhood home in Connecticut to Nashville, TN to further his career as a bassist and teacher. Once he arrived in Nashville, he was immediately picked up by the Ashley Buchart Band as their touring bass player. While touring full-‐time with Ashley, he also filled his days “off” by playing gigs with artists such as Stephanie Quayle, Jake Clayton, Nick Cross, and Shannon Selig. He is currently using his extensive professional playing experience as a tool to teach meaningful life and playing lessons to his pupils in the Nashville area! My main teaching philosophy is to always have the underlying fundamentals in mind. Of course, whenever I start a new subject with my students, it is in an effort to better their playing and move them towards their goals. But while doing so, the fundamentals must always be there. After all, the busiest professional players have the best fundamental technique, precision, and musicality! Overall, though, music makes people happy because it is fun, and I never overlook the importance of that fact! *** Lesson Details *** The first thing I like to hear from students is what their goals are while taking lessons. Do you want to become a professional musician? Do you want to be able to play with your friends in a band? Are you looking to perform at your local church with a group of musicians? These student-specific goals will help to drive what we will work on during your lessons. Together, we can reach your goals! *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide my own bass/guitar, amplifier, cables, etc. I will also have a pencil and paper, and manuscript paper. I expect the student to have their own amplifier (if necessary) and bass/guitar. They should also have pencils, paper, and manuscript paper. *** Specialties *** My lessons center around getting a student prepared to play professionally. I believe that the best way to play professionally is to be as well-rounded as possible. So, my lessons target a wide variety of music styles and technical abilities on the bass/guitar, all while having fun!

Kyle is a great bass teacher. He always made sure that I understood the material and what I was supposed to practice during the week. I progressed more with Kyle than with either of my prior 2 teachers. He also always has a smile on his face! Take lessons from Kyle!

Kyle was great! I just took my first guitar lesson with Kyle and he was awesome. Very patient, even when I got frustrated with myself. He taught me how to solo on the blues during my very first lesson and got me using a pick for the very first time. Kyle's lesson was engaging and enjoyable.
