When my children switched schools, I wanted them to continue with Latin so we started with Kurt and he has been amazing! He is extremely professional and reliable, and he is very good with young children (patient and encouraging). He has an effective method for ramping them up and getting them comfortable with the language. My kids are at the point now where the entire session with Kurt is being conducted in Latin, and they look forward to their lessons each week.+ Read More
Amazing teacher and great instructor. He always makes sure you are on the right track and lets you know when you are doing better. He tries hard to make sure you understand and he corrects you when mistaken. I highly suggest Mr. Kurt and he seems and acts very experienced. Take a lesson and you soon will be too!+ Read More
I really enjoyed how the lessons were styled. His method makes pronunciation and memorization come to you easily.
This guy was a terrible teacher. One time in class we were told to take everything off of our desk to take a quiz. One of my friends was taking a little bit longer because he could not find a pen and Kurt came over and threw his stuff on the ground and yelled at him. Another time with the same student who had his head on his desk because he did not get good sleep and Kurt came up and kicked his desk which his head was rested on and it probably hurt. Other times he has given detentions to students for the most minor things imaginable. This man has no patience or class. He treats us as if we are inferior and respect is a 2 way street. reviews prior to mine are all 5 stars but that is because class ahead of us was for some reason given tons of Grace and loved by him. Some of the other reviewers are his colleagues who he treated with respect.+ Read More
Thank you for being a great Latin teacher and for all your encouragement and inspiration.
In the one year that I had Mr. Scharping, it was easy to see how much he really loved the language. Personally, I loved his style of continuous repetition in order to learn things. In class he would speak to us in Latin and we would respond in Latin, which really helped me master the language. If you ever needed help he was also very open to help you out. I would gladly recommend Mr. Scharping to any of my friends, if they wanted to learn Latin, because of his diligence and extensive knowledge of the language.+ Read More
As a parent, I was so pleased with Mr. Scharping's knowledge and enthusiasm for Latin.
I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Mr. Scharping. He instilled a great work ethic in his students, as he drove us to excel in our studies. With a good additude and friendly disposition, Mr. Scharping is a wonderful teacher who will push his students and allow them to master their courses.+ Read More
