Drum

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate
Do you want to learn to play drums, or improve your drum set skills? And do you want to have fun doing it? Look no further! Even if you don't want to have fun on your musical journey, I can make the lessons dull if you that's what you prefer. I am a drummer and composer and have been writing, playing, and performing for most of my life. I have an associates degree in the fine arts and currently teach at WO Smith Music School. I first like to find out what drives my students as musicians and using this as a basis for the curriculum. If I've done my job, they will use the skills they learn in music and apply them to all aspects of their lives.

Teaching since:
2016

I have been playing drums since I was about ten years old and grew up taking lessons. In high school I played in the jazz ensemble, swing band, concert band, and pop ensemble. I then played in my college's jazz band and received my associates degree in music. I am formally trained in drum set and piano but I love to play guitar and bass also!
There is so much I have learned from my formal education in music but I also think it is important to recognize how much music can teach us about life. I have gotten to meet so many amazing people and have performed at some awesome places here in Nashville such as the Ryman Auditorium and the Wildhorse Saloon. All of my experiences with music have been invaluable and humbling. I think that a teacher is successful when they have helped a student progress not only as a musician, but as a human being too.

Rock on! :-)
