I love to learn, and love to find creative and fun ways to help others learn! I am patient, caring, reliable, and willing to go the extra mile to help my students achieve their goals. My tutoring experience includes Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Elementary Math, English, Spelling, Reading, and Reading Comprehension. I have experience working with children with Attention Deficit Disorder and behavioral disorders, and seek to help all my students grow both academically and personally.
With Master's degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Texas at Arlington (Social Work) specializing in counseling, I am also in a unique position to teach Bible studies and provide Life Coaching. My heart is to help others find the path that God has designed uniquely for them, and experience a full and satisfying life (John 10:10). I look forward to meeting and working with all my clients, each one a person of great worth!
I have been privately tutoring off-and-on since 1986. My tutoring experience includes students ranging in age from 5 years through college on a private basis. This includes Geometry, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1 & 2; English, Writing, Reading, and Reading Comprehension; Social Studies; Science; and more.
I have experience life coaching in the areas of Christian discipleship, career, relationship, and daily life skills (e.g., budgeting, time management, etc.).
I help strengthen the cognitive skills of students (including memory, focus, information processing speed, etc.). My experience includes students with Attention Deficit Disorder, reading deficits, struggles with math, and general difficulty with academic performance in school. I am trained to administer our Math, Reading, and Think programs, each targeting specific areas of challenge or weakness to the student. Enrichment of mental capacity has also been included in my work.
My tutoring included instruction in Science, Math, Reading, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. I provided homework assistance, test preparation for the TAKS and STAAR programs, and administered practice tests/assistance in academic areas of difficulty for students, whose ages ranged from 5 to 14 years.
