Hello!
I received a Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance from Drake University in Flute and Piano. Currently pursuing a Master's in Music Therapy.
At Drake, I received a musical scholarship covering 80% of my tuition costs.
I was also honored to sit as Principal Flute in both the Drake Symphony Orchestra and the Drake Wind Symphony, the top performing groups at the University.
I started to play the flute and piano in second grade, and
my love and passion for music have only grown and matured since then.
I enjoy sharing what I've learned, and learning from my students as well.
I am excited and thrilled by the opportunity to work with you!

Write a ReviewKristin was such a wonderful teacher for our young daughter, Margaret! We had to move out-of-state and are struggling to find someone who can fill Kristin's shoes!
My daughter loves going to her. She is in tune with a pace that works well for my daughter.
Incredibly enthusiastic and attentive. Highly recommended!
Great first lesson! Kristin is very patient, and clear with her instructions.
My first piano lesson turned out to be so much more than I could have ever expected. My teacher, Kristin is so engaged in the lesson and so very well prepared. We covered so much in such a short time. She made every minute both fun and informative while providing a very friendly environment in her studio. I feel very fortunate to have found such a really competent music teacher.
+ Read MoreKristin is a wonderful piano teacher! She is skilled and experienced, as well as very enthusiastic. My 7 year old son started with her and absolutely loved his lessons, and more importantly grew a love to play the piano. In addition she taught me to play again, not playing for about 30 years! Amy is reliable, flexible, makes the lessons both fun and instructive and can tailor to your preferred kind of music. I would highly recommend her!

Kristin has been great so far. I'm coming back from a LONG absence from piano and she is working hard helping me learn the music I like and still help me learn how to actually ready music!
Finished my first lesson with Kristin. She was really great. She fit the lesson based around the skills I already had and allowed me to build my skills.

I've been taking lessons with Kristin for the past 3 weeks now. I used to play as a child, and I'm just getting back into playing now after several years. Finding a teacher that was the right fit was important to me. Kristin is awesome! I felt comfortable right away. She's super patient, knowledgable, and took the time to understand my goals. Highly recommend her :-)

Kristin has been one of the best instructors that I've ever had. I started flute lessons with her with a lot of bad habits picked up from an instructor at the school was I was attending. I didn't know that they were bad until Kristin walked me through why they were bad. She helped me break the habits, and since then I've been doing much better. I haven't tripped up as much as I used to, and I really do attribute it to her. Now I just need to practice more. She's very patient, always with a smile on her face, and made me feel very comfortable, whether it was at her home or mine. She has also been very flexible with my schedule.
I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone!
