My name is Kristin- but my students call me Ms. Kris! I began training in both singing and piano when I was 8 years old, and received a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. I have performed professionally for over 16 years across the country (I started as a kid, so I know how to relate to kids at every level of engagement!) I have been teaching in the performing arts since 2006, in varied settings (one-on-one, summer camps, after-school programs, etc.). I believe in creating an encouraging, individualized, and knowledgeable environment for students to grow from wherever they are, to wherever they want to go. www.kristin-morris.com.
**I work as a substitute teacher with LAUSD and can provide proof, so I have valid background checks, TB tests, and fingerprinting. That's why I did not background check through this website.**
Extensive experience with children in educational settings, not just with the performing arts.
Among other career highlights, I toured North America with a classic musical as soon as I graduated college (I had been cast the week before graduation). I have a particular strength with choral singing, due to this experience.
I led music classes as a summer theater camp of a professional theater (which I performed at from ages 10-18) while also directing the vocals in youth productions.
