    About Kristen F.

    Kristen Fowler is a Virginia-based hornist and music educator. She is currently the band director at Page Middle School in Gloucester County, and she freelances in the Richmond area. Recently, she held the position as second horn of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and she is a substitute musician with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her orchestral and educational pursuits, Kristen often creates and performs outreach concerts within her community. She has taught several private students over the years, and her band students frequently stay after for extra lessons. She is also a frequent recitalist and will be performing at the Southeast Horn Workshop as well as the International Women's Brass Conference in 2017. Kristen holds a M.M. in Horn Performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Jeff Nelsen. She also holds an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a B.A. in Music from Virginia Tech, where she studied with Wally Easter.
