About Kristen D.
Kristen is an accomplished cellist and music educator who has been teaching private lessons since 2009. She has helped her students develop technique, confidence in playing, note reading, orchestral and improvisational skills.
Kristen received her training at the Boston Conservatory, earning a Bachelor of Music in String Performance (2008) and a Masters of Music in Music Education (2010.) Her teaching style can be described as kind, patient, and knowledgable, with the ability to help push her students to new heights through finding their own musical voice through the instrument.
Kristen is also an experienced performing musician. She has toured nationally and internationally, and her cello playing with the band Gem Club can be heard on NPR's "All Songs Considered" and "Tiny Desk Concerts." You can hear her on the soundtrack to ABC's "Private Practice" and "Revenge", as well as NBC's "Parenthood".

Kristen is super friendly, easy to understand, and really makes the most of the time you have together!

Kristen is an excellent teacher. She is extremely intuitive about her students needs and tailors the lesson to the students skill level. I look forward to the next lesson.

Kristen is absolutely fantastic. Our teen was a first time cello player and she learned an immense amount and was completely inspired by Kristen.

Kristen has been a truly fantastic cello teacher to my daughter (14) for over 3 years!
Her lessons are truly engaging and productive and she can communicate the information in a way that is easy to understand. She so very patient and encouraging while also inspiring excellence in her students. She keeps the lessons fun and interesting by spending some time each week on playing duets, sight-reading and learning a variety of musical styles. Her own incredible musical talent is an inspiration and her enthusiasm is contagious!

Kristen is terrific. She provides clear instructions and inspires hard work.

My 5 year old son loved working with Kristen! I, myself, appreciated her gentle approach with my extra shy boy. My son looked forward to his weekly lessons with Kristen. I would totally recommend her services!

I have taught with Kristen this past year in an elite high school setting. She was responsible for groups of 6-10 students for sectionals. She was demanding of good intonation and musicianship, and, with her lovely personality, the students were inspired to try their very best. I have observed her teach many levels, from beginners to advanced students. She is able to pinpoint problems, and correct them with creative solutions. I would choose Kristen to teach my child.

Kristen is a great teacher. She gives detailed attention to her students and really develops their interests in cello.

Kristen made getting back into the cello so enjoyable! After 25+ years having given it up, I was nervous about getting back into lessons. She was flexible and easy to work with and just a very nice person to be around. Consider yourself lucky to have found such a great teacher (and amazing cellist)!

Kristen has been a wonderful cello teacher for our daughter. She has always helped with school orchestra pieces as well as provided a wide variety of other work to explore - both classical and contemporary.
I cannot recommend her highly enough. Kristen has supported and motivated our daughter to become a better cellist, has greatly improved her knowledge of music theory, and it has been a joy for me to listen to them play every week.

My daughter really likes to like her teachers, with Kristin it was instant. I can without any reservations recommend her.
