Students who study piano with me will find that I have a very laid back attitude, but I have high expectations.  I want my students to do well, to think for themselves, and to have fun.  We will learn a mix of method book pieces and more popular songs.  Ultimately I try to gear the lesson experience towards a student's interests.  I feel like a well-rounded musical approach is best.  I try not to focus on one particular genre, and we will apply all skills learned in the method books to what we are doing outside the method books.  I like to end lessons with a game and it has been a fun and unique challenge to find ways to expand that to online learning.  I hope that you will choose me as your teacher.  I am sure we will have a lot of fun.

I am a mom of four kids, and part time church music director.  I have been teaching piano for 15 years, and have learned a lot along the way.  Having kids of my own has definitely made me a better teacher.  I understand that students want to do well, and I share the joy of each student's success.  I expect students to practice, to pay attention, and to give 100% effort at all times.  If somebody is having a bad day, I appreciate knowing.  I try to be honest with my students and I hope my students will be honest with me.  I am looking forward to helping you grow your musical talents.
