I have a fundamental understanding of brass instrument technique that allows me to teach lessons and offer coaching for all sorts of brass instrumentalists.

Bass trombone technique is mostly similar to tenor trombone technique, and concurrent with my approach to offering guidance for tenor trombonists, I have guided young musicians through the intermediate stages of bass trombone technique by fostering their talent and capitalizing on their strengths in order to create a constructive learning environment.

Clarity and expression come to us in different forms and are meant to be used to interpret all the many sources of inspiration which surround us, from the benign and painful to the sublime and beautiful. Teaching my students to tap into their personal creativity and inventive methods will enable them to utilize their instrumental techniques in a way which is invigorating and communicative. With this, I hope to foster lifelong musicians who can use their inventiveness to surmount any and all of life's many challenges.

Kevin has been giving lessons at our apartment to help my 13-year old daughter prepare for upcoming trombone auditions.  I like how challenging and supportive Kevin is during his lessons; my daughter thinks he's terrific fun too.  As a parent, it has been easy to communicate with Kevin, he's extremely professional, personable, direct and honest.  I strongly recommend him for any trombone student.

Kevin is a true musician who not only teaches children how to play an instrument, but also how to respect the instrument and the music. He worked with my 11 year old son who liked playing the trombone and opened a door into a whole new found love of playing. He is extremely engaging, patient and offers constructive help when necessary plus his love of music is clear in his instruction. I would highly recommend his services.
