I have been singing since i could talk. Sounds very cliche, but definitely the truth. Music is in my blood, and was always used as an emotional tool in my house growing up. If you were sad, or celebrating go sing a song. So since then i have truly been hooked to the magical genius that is music. I have been teaching now for over 3 years. I got the opportunity to teach my first choir my senior year in high school, in hopes to save the music program at my school. I had taken 6 years of private voice instruction before entering college. I gained a lot of experience in the theatre performing in productions such as Les Miserables, Romeo and Juliet, and Fiddler on the Roof just to name a few. I went on to receive my degree at San Joaquin Delta College in music with a discipline in voice. I am a well rounded performer where i have sang at numerous community events, sports games, graduations, charity events, weddings, and i was even given the opportunity to perform for the California State Senate. So come let me share my love and passion with you! *** Lesson Details *** I love music, and i love the raw emotion that music brings to a situation, or out of people when experiencing it. I am very passionate about music and what it brings out of people, and i cant help but want to share my passion of music with others. As a teacher i want learning to be fun. I want my students to have the desire to learn more, and keep pushing towards their goals. I am what i guess you could call a laid back teacher. I make the atmosphere comfortable, pleasant, but I consistently push my students to reach their goals, and to help them grow as a creative artist. My lesson plans are designed and adapted to each individual student, because we all know not everyone learns the same. In my lessons with my students i really focus on technique. ( My motto is i want my students to learn how to sing correctly where they are not hurting/damaging their voice, so it can be used for many many years) I like my students have a say in what they learn (song choices, genres) Where they can learn how to sing correctly no matter what they are performing. If i can inspire, motivate, and help my students have a passion for singing then i feel like i have done my job. *** Studio Equipment *** An upright piano and CD player in her cozy living room that is designated for music lessons with a very comfortable sitting are for parents *** Specialties *** I can work with many different genres from classical, to pop.
