The headline was a student's idea. I have had students tell me I am the best teacher they ever had. I am here to help my students not show off or brag about my performance skills. I pride myself on taking a student from where they are to their end goal, be they an experienced player or a total beginner. I will get you where you want to be! It takes time and work to progress, it also takes a knowledgeable teacher with the patience and motivation you also need for support. I have 2 degrees in Music, experience as a songwriter and run a home based recording studio. I teach virtually every style of music and how the guitar functions in a given genre. *** Lesson Details *** I am laid back generally, but very detailed in my examples or explanations to a question. I am not happy until you completely understand a concept. I teach student's how to "read" music as well as "tab" on occasions. A musician benefits greatly when they have a strong foundation in music theory. I teach from lesson books depending on age and experience. I also teach Music Theory and more importantly how to use music theory to your advantage. I also use "handouts" on a variety of topics including "improvisation", chords etc. as supplemental material to working from a Method book. After a few months you will perform songs reading music and playing chords.
