I've been playing 🎸 for a little over 13 years now, with my base genre being blues to this day. I've also had the opportunity to delve into various other styles over the years through learning songs that I like, playing for 2 groups I got the chance to be a part of, having to learn pieces for music classes, or learning songs that students want to learn so that I can teach them. I played for 3 years before I started studying music theory so if you're in the same position I'd be happy to approach it with a perspective for guitar. Or we can focus on specific songs you might like to master. It's all up to you and I always keep it in mind to leave my student's in a position and a mindset to continue learning and most importantly: wanting to learn between lessons. Part of what I find important in achieving those two goals is one: making sure that the student's personal development path is always a priority; and two: making sure that what is taught is applied in a way that the student can continue self-directed development between lessons.
