    I am a NYC-based professional artist and educator with a background in classical painting and printmaking. Imparting artistic knowledge and cultivating creativity are an inseparable part of my work, I love seeing students excel and achieve their painterly goals. Over my years of teaching I became highly articulate at verbalizing the nuanced concepts we deal with as artists. There is a moment of clarity when an idea that was initially confusing to a student suddenly makes sense -- that moment puts a smile on my face. I tailor my lessons to individual students’ level, from fundamentals to advanced techniques. Through working on their pieces, students learn to master shapes, values, edges, media handling and color-mixing. Advanced students focus on practical application of color theory and on composition design.     HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Ken is extremely talented in perceiving every student’s individual needs. When he gives feedback, it is not formulaic but actually tailored to the work I have done and the improvements I have made. This means that with each exercise completed, I am still learning new things about myself and my drawing instead of just repeating a technique brainlessly. These drawing classes have left a lasting mark on my art practice!
