As a teacher, I focus on teaching my students how to sing with ease and confidence. I create a calming and positive atmosphere so that my students feel comfortable to grow artistically and technically. I teach a range of genres and styles. Student repertoire includes classical, opera, musical theatre, sacred, country, folk, pop ,and rock depending on age, skill, and interest. After evaluating the student’s goals, I offer a curriculum tailored to the students needs and repertoire goals. In order to guide the student to sing with confidence and ease, my teaching technique emphasizes posture, breathing, vocal production, diction and communication.  My years of intensive training with some of the finest pedagogues in the country combined with my continued performance experience help me to offer the best experience to my students.

Praised by the New York Times for her “verisimilitude” and “legato,” Kelsey R. is quickly establishing herself as a singer to be heard. In the Spring of 2017, Ms. R. made her New York City Opera debut in the role of Fuego in the U.S. premiere of Los Elementos. The New York Classical Review praised her performance for her “fierce, smoky mezzo” and “ferocious coloratura.” Some of Ms. R's other operatic engagements have been with Palm Beach Opera, Caramoor International Music Festival, Opera Saratoga, and more.

She received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from Eastman School of Music. She is currently pursuing an opera career in addition to maintaining a successful voice studio.
