Jazz Piano Lessons
I've been teaching piano for 14+ years. My goal as a teacher is to cultivate real, noticeable growth for each of my students. I accomplish this with a friendly yet disciplined learning approach, in which I provide my students with the environment to follow their creative passions while guiding them on the fundamentals of piano. In short, I supply the structure that best promotes each student's progress, by teaching them essential listening techniques, rhythm structures and stylistic approaches.

Miss Kelly is an amazing teacher who has been teaching my two boys for six months now. I took lessons as a child and I don’t remember my lessons ever being as fun. My children are both beginners and are truely enjoying their introduction to piano under Miss Kelly’s instruction. She is very patient and she engages the boys in their lessons by choosing fun music for them to play, letting them “compose” some music around the holidays and playing duets with them to let them hear different ways their weekly songs can sound when they play with her. As a parent I have enjoyed watching my kids improve and grow to love music.

Kelly is my daughter's fourth piano teacher in 8 years. I am impressed by Kelly's efforts to select pieces that align with the individual student's unique musical preferences and instincts. What's more, I appreciate how they stay with a piece and work on it until it is really mastered, focusing on different elements that need attention from week to week. I am extremely pleased with my daughter's growth as a pianist after just one year with Kelly, and delighted by her new confidence in her abilities at the keyboard. My student will now--unprompted--sit down at the piano to practice just for fun because it is finally fun now that she likes what she's playing and is convinced of her own ability.
