Hello! My name is Kelly O’Shea and I am a professional singer and voice teacher. I am trained in Classical Voice and Opera but sing and teach all genres! My extensive background in classical music brings a high level of vocal technique to each lesson no matter what genre we are singing that will give you the tools to advance your voice! I am great at working with kids and beginners as I have taught music, piano, and dance at a music and dance school for children. I also love working with more advanced singers looking to fine-tune their voice, get ready for auditions, and set a career path. So whether you are looking to seriously learn to art of voice, learn a new hobby, or just to have some fun singing, I would love to help you enjoy singing and music! TEACHING BIO: Ms. O’Shea’s teaching focuses on healthy vocal technique that is adjusted to each individual voice. She teaches many genres including Classical Voice, Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, and more! Ms. O’Shea currently holds a private voice studio in Miami, Florida. She is currently accepting students for in person and online lessons. Her lessons are great for beginners, music students of all ages, or just for the fun and love of singing! Recently relocated from Los Angeles, Ms. O’Shea has over 7 years experience teaching private voice lessons. While in California, she taught students of all ages, ranging from 5 to 60. She has taught voice lessons at organizations and schools throughout the South Bay including Hermosa School of Dance and Music, Santa Monica School of Dance and Music, community recreation centers, and at local public schools. PROFESSIONAL SINGER BIO: Mezzo-soprano Kelly O’Shea is a native of Los Angeles, California. Ms. O’Shea grew up on the music theater stage where she developed her love for voice and dance. As an opera singer, she has sung throughout Europe and the United States in venues such as the Estates Theater in Prague, Carnegie Hall, and the National Opera Center. She has had the pleasure to sing with organizations such as Prague Summer Nights, Vienna Summer Music Festival, Pacific Opera Project, The Verdi Chorus, and The Los Angeles Symphony. A versatile performer, Ms. O’Shea also excels in the arena of jazz music. Her singing style draws influence from numerous styles including jazz, neo-soul, blues, R&B, and classical. She regularly performs gigs with bands and other instrumentalists. She holds a Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance from California State University, Northridge, 2019 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from California State University, San Luis Obispo, 2017. Ms. O’Shea’s awards and distinctions include the Village Voices for Vocal Excellence Award and Scholarship and 1st prize at the Symphony Concerto Competition at California State University San Luis Obispo.
