Learning English does not need to be slow and painful. Students learn through practice and making mistakes. I encourage my students to feel safe making mistakes with humor and gentle comments.

About Kelly D.
Hello! I have a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and English Literature and a 120-hour TESOL certification (Teaching English as a Second Language). I have taught as an ESL school teacher in Thailand, a private tutor, and an online tutor for the Chinese company DaDaABC.
I have a lot of experience teaching younger students (ages 6 through 16); however, I have taught older students as well. In college, I worked as a writing tutor, helping international students with writing their research papers and essays. Currently, I'm helping a 58-year-old Chinese woman understand English for her anatomy classes!
I teach my students to have fun learning by drawing, gesturing, and talking about interesting topics. Learning a language is about being able to communicate so I work hard to give my students confidence in themselves. At the end of the day, if you speak English and the other person understands, you are doing a great job!!
