15-year Experience of one-on-one Tutoring in Math, Statistics, Economics.

For my entire life, I've had a passion for mathematics. My earliest memory of using mathematics was at the age of three, I used math in order to tell time on my analog watch. I was so proficient at telling time that my preschool teacher would have to take my watch away because I would time her when she said, "We'll move on in a few minutes". As I've grown and learned more aspects of mathematics, I've always enjoyed demonstrating what I knew to others. This experience of explaining a topic to which I am devoted has now turned into teaching teenagers and young adults the analytical skills they may use in future endeavors.

    About Keith P.

I have over 15 years' experience tutoring various levels of math. Graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2011, I simultaneously earned a B.S. in Math and Economics and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics. My online-tutoring career began in 2017 after leaving a company for which I was developing algorithmic online homework problems for a major publishing firm. For college students, I am quite knowledgeable in MyMathLab and Canvas. Any course that I've taken in the past, I became comfortable explaining to others. I'm also well-versed in the scoring methods for the College Board's Advanced Placement Exams for Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Statistics. Therefore, math courses that I am comfortable in tutoring include the following: trigonometry; pre-calculus; AP Calc AB/BC; AP Stats; College Statistics; College Calculus 1, 2, and 3; Differential Equations; Linear Algebra; Number Theory; Discrete Mathematics. Technology involved in statistics courses that I can assist with include Excel, R Programming, and Stata. As I also have a degree in economics, I am comfortable with tutoring in Beginner's Economics, Introductory Micro- or Macroeconomics, and Intermediate Microeconomics.

    Experience

    Mathematics/Economics Tutor

    Jan, 2007 - Present

    Sole Proprietor

I've been a math tutor since I was a senior in high school back in 2007. While taking math courses for my degrees, I also willing to assist students who were afraid to ask the professor for 1-on-1 help. After graduation, I also realized that I could assist with some economics subjects as well, as many of subtopics are math-based. If I've taken the course myself, I'm also able to tutor in it.
