I graduated with a BFA in dance from The Ohio State University, one of the top 5 modern dance departments in the country. I took my first dance class at two years old and have been dancing ever since. I've been a professional dancer for over 20 years and I am trained in modern, contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, West African, tap, lyrical, burlesque and ballet. I am a dancer who believes that dancing is about more than just technique. You have to have technique but you also have to have stage presence and dynamic performance. That is what I am known for. I encourage my students to dance beyond technique and find your own individual expression as a dancer. I have danced for many well known musical artists, commercials, films and award shows. I have a unique gift to be able to make a dancer out of anyone. I can see your movement quality and style and help you reach your full potential. I teach in a fun and easy to understand way that gives you a balance of technique and stage performance. You will leave every rehearsal feeling confident and looking forward to the next one. I am also a professional actor on TV and Film and have toured the country in theatre shows. My acting helps me to bring a performance element to dance and I am able to communicate instruction and technique for easy understanding. I teach all levels and customize each lesson so that you are always challenged in a fun way. I currently teach at a dance academy that prepares and sends students off to the professional world so I am consistently in the world of dance every week and bring a freshness to our rehearsals. As a dancer I believe we never stop learning and growing. I want to teach and work with dancers who are excited and passionate and ready to have some fun. You will see your technique improve, discover more of what you thought you could do and have a great time doing it all.
