Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

CPR Certification

I was responsible for instructing and maintaining the skills and abilities of all the tenor saxophone players in the band (11). Some of the musicians were brand new to the instrument and others had been playing it for years. All students improved in both their marching abilities and their musical abilities.

I have been teaching saxophone basics for only a few years, but have had a great amount of success. Students will learn to read music and understand the basics of musical theory. Newly beginning musicians will learn how to read music and play basic scales before moving on to more musical (and more fun) pieces. Students in band classes will be able to work on that specific music while growing as a musician. All music materials will be provided, but students must supply their own reeds.

I have been playing the tenor sax for 10 years now in marching band, concert band, and pep band settings. I recently completed my Bachelors degree at Virginia Tech where I played and held leadership roles in the regimental band, "The Highty Tighties". I emphasize discipline and patience when learning a new instrument. I do, of course, understand that it can be frustrating and boring to sit and just play scales for hours on end, and that playing your instrument should be a fun and exciting activity.

Keegan has great experience with musical instruction and execution of various styles. He would also be a great mentor to young musicians/adults by providing direction and other skills he has picked up from his well-rounded and wholesome experiences. Truly  a great person :)
