    About Kay K.

    Ms. Kroger has been a teacher and a tutor since 2014, and can tutor at your home, or at another location. She has helped students learn to argue logically for college-level writing courses, increased ESL student's spoken and written fluency, and tutored the concepts of linguistics (including First/Second Language Acquisition, Syntax, and Discourse Analysis) at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Ms. Kroger received her MA in Linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University and her BA in English from Northern Illinois University. She received professional training as a writing tutor while working for the Learning Support Center at NEIU, and has presented her research at conferences on English Literature, Anthropology, Linguistics, and Cognitive Science. She is an expert in her field, she is passionate about helping students meet their goals. She is energetic, focused, and highly adaptive in light of students' needs and goals.

    Writing Tutor

    I worked as a writing tutor with undergraduate and graduate students to work on their writing, from ESL courses and English 101 to graduate seminar papers. I helped students from all socioeconomic backgrounds, both traditional and nontraditional students. I especially focused on helping foreign exchange students and immigrant students in their essay-writing skills.
