Experienced Violin teacher of 3 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of vibrato, harmonics, and position skills. I specialize in classical music, I typically use Suzuki books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: tuner, metronome, my own violin, and a wide variety of books.

My name is Katie and I would love to teach you how to play violin. I am certified to teach suzuki book 1, but I can also teach other books comfortably. I have played in many Orchestras across the country including Shenandoah Valley Youth Orchestra, Shenandoah Valley Academy Orchestra, and Pacific Union College Symphony. I have been playing violin since I was 5 years old. My favorite memories were Suzuki camps where I learned how to fiddle, winning a talent show playing Bach Double Concerto, and starring as a guest performer for Eastern Mennonite University's 100th Anniversary celebration. If you are interested in learning to play the violin, give me a shout. I would love to share my love and passion for music with you.

Katie is an excellent violin teacher.  I am an adult with a background in music, but a complete beginner on the violin.  Katie has done a great job at tailoring lessons towards my personal goals and skill level and I am amazed at the difference in my playing after just a few lessons.
