I was skeptical at first in high school when I found out my Spanish teacher was not Latin@. But when I heard Katie speak in Spanish I was like, "she's legit.." 

After taking AP Spanish language from a strict Spaniard and I thought taking AP Spanish Literature with Katie was going to be a challenge but in fact it was a lot more entertaining than I though. The readings weren't too bad (think Shakespeare but in Spanish) but it was the interactive lessons that tied the readings back to work we were doing. Also the class discussions that followed our readings really helped me comprehend the type of classical Spanish we're not used to hearing on a daily basis. 

Katie encouraged us to talk in Spanish and would offer extra credit if we worked on our grammar. I loved the fact that she didn't judge native speakers for having worse grammar than her regular students because the most important thing was that we didn't shy away from speaking Spanish. It's crucial to know Spanish especially in Texas and I highly recommend Katie to teach you. Not only is she patient but she's also extremely encouraging. Her teaching skills helped our class achieve almost all 5's on our AP exams.

Katie is a gifted teacher.  She has a natural ability to connect with students and help them accomplish their goals.  Her enthusiasm and love for the language is contagious.  Coupled with her expertise in Spanish--from grammar to poetry and literature--you won’t find another teacher better qualified to teach you.
