Piano with Katie C.

Katie has been teaching voice and piano students since 2012 and is currently available to teach online students. Katie has loved helping students build their musical skills in learning how to read music, understand music theory, and explore fun repertoire pieces of both the classical and popular genre. Katie is a classically trained vocalist who received her Master’s of Music from Westminster Choir College. She has also been playing piano since she was in high school, and continued to take classical lessons throughout her college career, while also taking courses in piano pedagogy. While she is trained classically, she also has an extensive background in musical theatre and has had the wonderful opportunity of playing various roles such as Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Johanna in Sweeny Todd. As music is a form of self-expression, it is important to Katie that lessons are fun and a time of developing a love for music. Lessons are crafted individually for the student’s learning style as well as interests. Students of Katie’s have enjoyed playing Disney songs, popular music, and musical theatre. Lesson activities can involve playing music theory games, using different modes of learning such as auditory and kinesthetic, and learning exciting new songs. Katie can’t wait to meet you and discuss how she can help you achieve your musical goals.
