Getting my BFA in Theatre and a minor in Musical Theatre at Wayne State University- I saw a great lack of understanding from theatre students about the world of music! I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade, and in High School found myself a part of theatre, band, choir and orchestra! This helped me not only in my musicality as a musician, but understanding how much music plays a role in Theatre! Let me help you gain a basic understanding and knowledge of music, focused on application in the musical theatre and theatre world! Students can be expected to learn all the basic and intermediate skills when it comes to reading, writing, and performing music, with a specific focus on improving sight reading techniques. I love the language of music so let me teach it to you!
