- Ages 5+
- Teaching since:
I began playing the piano at 5 and the violin at 9. My mother taught piano and violin lessons and she taught me the piano until I was 8 when I was taught by my aunt who had a bachelor degree in music. My mother taught me the violin and then when I was in high school I went to another teacher. In college I took piano lessons with Prof. Irving Wasserman who became the music department head and was very well known and respected in Northern Utah even having festivals named after him. I took violin lessons from Ralph Matesky at Utah State University who was the orchestra director and violin teacher. He also was very well known and wrote basic string beginning books for orchestras in the schools.
I started teaching in college and have been teaching almost non-stop since then.
Since 1998 I have played for several high school and junior high school choirs. I also have played for voice and band solo contests. I have accompanied since I was 12 years old.
I moved to Indiana from Texas in August of 2018 where I had 25 students and a waiting list. Several of my students also accompanied for others.
I love kids and really love to teach them. I have also taught several adult students and enjoyed that as well.
Currently I am playing for a local high school's 3 show choirs who rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
