My name is Katie! ​I’m from the sunshine state and I’m in my mid-20s with a passion to inspire passion in music! I have been playing piano since I was a wee lass. Around 4 my parents put me in Children’s Music Academy in Denver, CO! It was a wonderful foundation for me to take off into music. My education continued when we moved to Florida, I attended the local performing arts middle school, John Hopkins Middle School where I studied piano and guitar. I continued my studies at my performing arts high school in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High school. A mouthful, I know! We just call it PCCA around the 'burg. I had a few very influential teachers that gave me the inspiration to continue music in college. I was very lucky to find professors at UT that gave me the opportunity to pursue anything that piqued my interest and fan the flames of inspiration. I graduated from the University of Tampa in 2016 and hold a Bachelors degree in Music with a focus in Classical piano! I also got a chance to study under some amazing local musicians and honed my skills in Jazz piano, guitar and bass. I have performed with various jazz ensembles and combos, performed in rock bands that have toured as far as TN and music directed two musicals locally in Tampa! I have taught guitar, piano and voice for over 8 years and look forward to inspiring the next generation of musicians!
